Crash on launch
« on: November 26, 2015, 11:48:47 pm »
I've tried verifying files, re-installing the mod, running as administrator.

Here's the crash report

http://pastebin.com/zEaxuzbb

I'm using a R9 280x and the latest crimson drivers.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Try opening settings.json in your Just Cause 2 Multiplayer folder and setting Legacy Renderer to true, save, and relaunch. That *might* fix it.

I'm on windows 10-64bit/Radeon 7950,Jcmp 0,2 would crash a lot at or after a death or at spawn.

But the other day amd had a driver update and I hadn't played for a day or two before updating my driver and today I tried to play JCMP.. I've tried ever suggested fix.... dxd updating /failsafe and /adapter=0 launch options. I also tried differen't compatiblity settings and runing as admin. Deleting Documents\Square Enix\Just Cause 2\Saves\JC2Settings.. and using legacy render. And steam verifying. And sfc /scannow.

The only thing I haven't done is go back to previous driver. Which is the only thing I can think of that is causing the problem.

I am probably going to reinstall AMD Catalyst 15.30 and see if it fixes my crash at launch if not I 'll probably go back to the previous driver and see if that fixes it.

Im just curious if anyone has updated to the new amd driver and been unable to play since.

EDIT: Yup it was the new AMD drivers..uninstalled then restarted and had my previous driver.

I am going to try installing the new driver from amd website instead of using the update via catalyst and see if that makes a difference.

Ok so I got jcmp to work with the new Crimson Radeon Driver by  taking the an old atidxx32.dll from

C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository. There where 4 different versions plus the new one.

I renamed  the atidxx32.dll in C:\Windows\SysWOW64 to atidxx32_old.dll
I put an older copy of atidxx32.dll from C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository into C:\Windows\SysWOW64

But if I was on winx86/32bit I think I would have to put it in C:\Windows\System32

Suffer the same issue here, running a R9 280 with newest driver. Replace dll's with older one is a NO GO for me.

I just bought JC2 today, it runs. But this Mutiplayer Mod does not. So its not AMD's fault, its more a Developer here who messed up the code.

Please fix it, i appreciated it :)

So you put the dll into C:\Windows\SysWOW64 or are you on 32bit windows?

Feel free to reach out to me on IRC. Its hard to test this as none of the team have AMD cards, and there is a limited number of people affected. Hopefully we can figure it out with your help :)

Do you have an AMD graphics card?

If so, it seems that the general consesus is that a problem in the latest drivers causes this.

You could try a driver rollback or you could wait to see what the devs have to say on the matter.

Yes, I do have an AMD gpu and I recently upgraded to the new Crimson drivers,
I will try a driver rollback tommorow and see if that fixed it.

Update to this issue, we can confirm its specific to Crimson but as we don't have any AMD cards available to test with, this is going to be an extremely tedious issue to fix. We are working with people who own affected cards, but as the person who wrote our renderer (Philpax) is currently out on holiday, an immediate fix shouldn't be expected for a while.

We recommend downgrading to Catalyst for the time being.
