A massive Congratulations on you new job Trix and I wish you the best at Avalanche.

A big 'Thank you' to yourself and the JC-MP team and I wish everyone their best in their future endeavours.

It is a bit disappointing that we won't see JC3-MP (Not right now anyway ;) ) but we look forward to your next project, whatever that may be :)

With much love,
Padraig

Troubleshooting / Unhandled Packet 131 from <IP Address>
« on: February 14, 2016, 02:37:59 pm »
Hey everyone.

So, while it is not a new thing, this spams the console and we have no idea where or why it's happening.

Code: [Select]
14:27:01 | [warn ] | Unhandled packet 131 from <IP Address>
14:27:01 | [warn ] | Unhandled packet 131 from <IP Address>
14:27:02 | [warn ] | Unhandled packet 131 from <IP Address>
14:27:02 | [warn ] | Unhandled packet 131 from <IP Address>

14:27:02 | [warn ] | Unhandled packet 131 from <IP Address>
14:27:02 | [warn ] | Unhandled packet 131 from <IP Address>
14:27:02 | [warn ] | Unhandled packet 131 from <IP Address>
14:27:02 | [warn ] | Unhandled packet 131 from <IP Address>
14:27:02 | [warn ] | Unhandled packet 131 from <IP Address>
14:27:02 | [warn ] | Unhandled packet 131 from <IP Address>
14:27:02 | [warn ] | Unhandled packet 131 from <IP Address>
14:27:03 | [warn ] | Unhandled packet 131 from <IP Address>
14:27:03 | [warn ] | Unhandled packet 131 from <IP Address>
14:27:03 | [warn ] | Unhandled packet 131 from <IP Address>
14:27:03 | [warn ] | Unhandled packet 131 from <IP Address>
14:27:03 | [warn ] | Unhandled packet 131 from <IP Address>

This would keep spamming for a couple of minutes or even longer and the only way that we can stop this from spamming is to block the IP through IPtables.

Server OS: Debian 7
Server: jc.nologam.com

Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you in advance :)

Scripting / Re: Alpha Build
« on: January 13, 2015, 01:02:31 pm »
There is no Alpha/Pre-Alpha per say, but there is a "publicbeta" branch on Steam whenever the devs release a beta branch.

To switch to it:
1) Find Just Cause 2: Multiplayer Mod in your Library.
2) Right-click > Properties
3) Beta tab > Switch to 'publicbeta'
4) Click "OK". The game will update to the beta branch.
5) Launch the mod.

To get back to the stable version:
Repeat everything above, but select "None" in the Beta tab!

The devs generally make a announcement when there is a new version available in the beta branch.

Server hosting / JC2MP Crash Randomly - Debian 7.5
« on: September 25, 2014, 09:07:33 pm »
So this evening at 7pm (BST), the Nologam (AKA N.JC2MP) crashed and I am trying to see what the issue is.

It closed the entire tmux session and thus I couldn't see the crash error before the server stopped. I do have the .dmp file right here http://nologam.com/files/jc2mpdump.tar.gz

That was the only dump file that there was. If you need any more info, I am happy to provide it.

Thanks.

Releases / Re: [RELEASE] Admin System
« on: March 02, 2014, 05:02:33 pm »
I think I know why, it's because you loaded the module before changing that, so it added "YOUR STEAM ID HERE" as Admin.

Do this: re-download the script, put your steam ID in there and load the module, I changed how it adds it.

Followed the instructions there and that worked.

So, top tip...Don't load it then change it. Change it THEN load it.

Thanks :)

If you go some pages backwards, you'll see that we had a chat about tags, and we were unable to find a easy and efficient way to implement them.

@Vampiric: It obviously worked for all the others here, you must have put your steam ID wrong or something.

I put in "STEAM_0:0:22365644" in that line and when I load it, it shows:

Code: [Select]
10:33:47 | [info ] | Loading module admin
10:33:47 | [info ] |    Loading script "shared/admin_shared.lua"
10:33:47 | [info ] |    Loading script "server/admin_acl.lua"
10:33:47 | [info ] | [admin] 1 ACL group(s) loaded!
10:33:47 | [info ] | [admin] 1 ACL group member(s) loaded!
10:33:47 | [info ] |    Loading script "server/admin_server.lua"
10:33:47 | [info ] |    Loading script "server/admin_commands.lua"
10:33:47 | [info ] |    Loading script "server/admin_bans.lua"
10:33:47 | [info ] |    Loading script "server/admin_freeze.lua"
10:33:47 | [info ] |    Loading script "server/admin_mute.lua"
10:33:48 | [info ] | Module admin loaded successfully

But it doesn't work when I press P.

I inputted my SteamID and loaded the plugin and pressing P does nothing. I thought maybe it was another plugin interfering with it, so I changed to J and still nothing.

Nothing returned on the in-game, nor the server console.

Server hosting / Re: Can't connect to the server.

The server config is telling it to run on that port and bind to the correct internal IP address.

Internal? It should be your EXternal IP. Under normal circumstances, you should leave that field blank (So that it just shows ""). That should only be set if your server has multiple IP addresses.

Server hosting / Re: Scripts not working
« on: February 06, 2014, 11:59:39 am »
Your scripts are not updated.

Code: [Select]
sRaceManager.lua:35: attempt to call method 'Register' (a nil value)"Events:Register" has been deprecated and removed hence you are getting the error.

Code: [Select]
sRace.lua:106: attempt to call method 'FireRegisteredEvent' (a nil value)"Events:FireRegisteredEvent" is now "Event:Fire"

You could spend time changing all instances of these yourself or you can get the updated versions of the plugins that work with 0.1.3.

---

1) Unload the old script in the server console by doing:
Code: [Select]
unload JC2-MP Racing(or whatever it's called) and then delete the folder from the /scripts/ folder
Code: [Select]
rm -rf /home/<yourusername>/jc2mp/scripts/jc2mp racing
2) Go here https://github.com/jc2mp/scripts - Click on the script that you want in the list, then right-click the "Download ZIP" button on the right side of the page, "Copy Link Location".

3) SSH into your server (or open Terminal), go to your JC2 folder /scripts/ then run.
Code: [Select]
wget https://github.com/dreadmullet/JC2-MP-Racing/archive/master.zipwhich will download the .zip to the scripts folder.

4) use
Code: [Select]
unzip master.zipyou will now have a folder named "JC2-MP Racing".

4a) If you don't have "unzip" installed, you can do:
Code: [Select]
sudo apt-get install unzipIt'll only take a sec to install.

5) Go back to your console (Screen session or tmux, whatever you are using), type
Code: [Select]
load JC2-MP Racing(Or whatever it is named) and enjoy.

While it is not the best method of updating scripts...It is a suitable way of doing it if you are new to server administration and just wanna get things done. (I might make a Git tutorial...I don't know yet.)

Hope this helps! :)

Work in progress / Re: Admin Panel (Commands + GUI)
« on: December 24, 2013, 02:17:07 pm »
Take as long as you like, the last thing I need is something that looks good but doesn't work.

Just two questions, where would we enter who is an admin and what key/command would we use to access the admin panel in-game?

Shot in the dark here, but I would say there would be a admins.txt where you put your STEAM ID into and then when you load the plugin, as for the key, wouldn't be worried about it, you could probably open the .lua and edit it to your preference!
