Client-side hit registration systems often add the ability to damage unoccupied vehicles, IIRC.

Scripting / Re: [HELP] Script to get players off of vehicles
« on: January 12, 2017, 11:43:02 pm »
What you're able to do (and should do) in this case is make a script which will be executed on every client. From there you can access the LocalPlayer variable for that client and check its state and act accordingly.

No, Fallen Civilization will not be coming back online with new updates.

JC2-MP / Re: why doesn't the jc-mp allow family sharing?
« on: December 30, 2016, 10:44:30 pm »
For banning reasons. Most games don't allow you to go online with Family Sharing (FS), e.g. CS:GO. This is because you'd be able to circumvent bans effortlessly with FS, at no cost.

As you can see in the link, CS:GO allows you to play offline/LAN content with FS. The only LAN/offline content in JC-MP are locally hosted servers, and it's a lot of effort to implement checks to allow only that when using FS, especially when it's a feature that only developers really use. So it's easier just to ban FS outright.

The game is like £2 on sale anyway, so it's not a big deal.

How would one check to see if a player has the Fine Aim/Zoom enabled?

I remember trying to do this. It's quite difficult. There's no truly unique AnimationState (it's shared with the state the player is in between firing shots) and tracking key input can become inconsistent because not only do you have zero ability to track what they may have changed it to, it can easily get out of sync.

Unless the API has been updated, which it might've been as this was a year ago at least.

Latest / Re: Thank you, SubZer0

It's always sad when a community loses one of its members, not least one such as SubZer0 who was so passionate and active in enriching the experience of others through community events.

May he rest in peace  :'(

Suggestions / Re: FIX GRAPPLE HOOKS
« on: September 29, 2016, 07:15:53 pm »
This is because physics and grappling hooks are not synced between clients.

As the mod makers are 'not actively adding any new features' this will probably remain the case indefinitely.

IPC sounds very interesting! Shame it was introduced this late into the game (AFAIK, maybe someone else used it before?) but it could have great potential in things like procedural generation

I remember Darwood said he had some c# program running to get profile pictures pre-1.2 but that's about it

Wow, that's almost as awesome as this new Just Cause 4 trailer!

You could try setting a timer? Maybe it's getting confused.

Just Cause 2 / Re: I think i need to get a life!

I always thought it would be Monopoly with jet-propelled boats as the counters, and the option to buy AH-33 Topachulas to guard your property and increase rent.

Best you'll get is ASCII art. As LF said, the potential for abuse is far too high. If the screen isn't covered, I'm sure some troll server could send you something that you really didn't want to see.
