HOLY MOTHER OF ALL FUCKS, thats amazing! Welp Trix, have fun getting this into a multiplayer. It says "Online Community Features" but I'm pretty sure it does not apply to multiplayer. I could be wrong though.

JC2-MP / Re: The Battle for Panau - aka Faction Wars
« on: March 04, 2014, 01:25:21 pm »
Server seems to be getting unpopular more and more. It was capping 200 players on weekends before. now there is barely 50-100, sometimes even less. I haven't been playing much either. Not much action going on like before. Not sure if the update was responsible for it, but if it keeps falling like that, it won't be much of a war anymore.
The map is so huge, that more than 5000 people could play on it, fighting over territory. Unfortunately, this design has a negative effect on the "war", because the (low) density of players get spread over a big area,  what makes you feel like you're in singleplayer, since you dont see any enemies for the next 10km.
One fix for this, would be to limit the battle to a certain area, reducing the map size and increasing the density of players (e.g. when only 10-20 people are online, limit the area to 3kings island, making only a small amount of bases capturable). It would increase the pvp experience and would force the palyers to think tactical to overcome their enemies, having a constant fear of getting attack at the next corner.
If more people join, the area gets expanded (e.g. desert island battle), eventually unlocking the whole map with a high player count.
Of course this would mean to switch off the faction HQ's, so there is no "save haven".

OR

spawn everyone near a hotspot, which is very vulnerable, but defendable at the same time, making it fair for everyone to capture and defend it.
The denfenders would get a certain reward for holding it for a certain amount of time (e.g. 100 points per minute. depending on how hard it is to defend). Maybe even some perks like armour boost (they will be fighting 2 factions at once. they could need some support).

That'd be my suggestion for the server. I'd hate to see the server loosing its players due to lack of popularity. Hope to see new updates soon.
Thanks for reading

I completely agree

I really hope that the devs can make the menu and the buy menu controller friendly. It gets rather tedious when switching back and forth from controller to mouse. I really love using a controller for Just Cause 2/ Just Cause 2 Multiplayer so please devs, here me out.

« on: December 13, 2013, 02:47:32 am »
ouch, no more beta test for you. the reason why its easy to get banned is because the jc-mp community is very small and the devs (Woet, Philpax, Trix, and dreadmullet) are always watching. plus there are always Moderators watching the chat. if you really feel the need to say something random and stupid on the chat. Just  talk about how terrible alienware is and tell everyone you are running jc-mp on a Windows 95  ;D

search steam to see if someone else has the same username as you that plays jcmp, if not then idk

Question: To host a server on release, do you have to port forward or will there be a feature in the menu that does that.
P.S: I don't mean LAN servers.

Something that I noticed that wasn't added to multi-player: Grenades and Triggered-Bombs.
